Produced by M.R.S. for Rosas Entertainment Films, "Mga Batang Bangketa" is a bigger and updated version of the drama masterpiece many years ago by the late director Armando de Guzman, Sr. Titled "Mga Batang Bangketa," it featured in the title role the Star for All Seasons, Vilma Santos, who once said that Camille will one day become a good actress of her caliber. Now under the helm of Angelito "AJ" de Guzman, son of the original director, the 2006 film also stars Marco Alcaraz, Juan Rodrigo, Alicia Alonzo, German Moreno, Jojo Alejar, Melissa Mendez, Toni Magalona and the Musaka group members Pierro Rodriguez III, Myko Suntay, Rowell Reyes, Cyline Suntay, Zaira Mate, Jocel Escobal and Michelle Rodriguez.
In the story, Clarisa is the eldest daughter of poor parents Celina and Berto. When her mother decided to work in Japan, Clarisa and two younger siblings are left in the care of their father. Soon Berto will discover that Celina has a Japanese husband and turn his hatred to the children by maltreating them. The kids left their home and found themselves in the streets of Manila. Their life will never be the same again and will be filled with more miseries and frustrations. In the end, however, they will learn that thereas more reason to live than just survive.
