Family in mcycle mishap
ZAMBOANGA CITY Overtaking on the wrong side of the road proved fatal to a motorcycle-riding insurance agent and caused serious injuries to his backriding wife and son, recently in Barangay Upper Calarian this city.

Later, the report said, Blancaflor tried to overtake a cargo truck on the right side of the road, but he lost control of his two-wheel vehicles steering bar.
This caused the motorcycle to slip and crash into a concrete wall of a roadside establishment.
Blancaflor, his wife, Melissa, an employee of the Department of Agrarian Reform, and their son John Michael, were all thrown off the motorcycle with the insurance mans head hitting the concrete wall. He died on the spot.

Mother seeks GMA aid
A distressed mother, now in the twilight of her life, has written President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo to ask for her help in a family dispute that has reached the court.
"Madam President, please put an end to our agony," Mrs. Simmy Gaw Guy, 74, wrote. "I have to see my husband so that I can bring him proper hospitalization, so that his medical needs and emotional needs could be properly addressed."
Guy is locked in a legal battle with her own son over visitation rights to her ailing husband who is in their conjugal house in Quezon City.
Mrs. Guy said she sought a court order to enter their home and look after her husband, Francisco Guy Co Chia, 78, who has been diagnosed with symptoms of Alzheimers disease and hydrocephalus.
She said she was allowed entry into the IR house at 191 Swallow Drive, Green Meadows, Libis, Quezon City, only once.
The case has been referred to the Office of Executive Secretary Alberto Romulo for action.
Mundia art show set
A father and his son will hold their second art show "Sanctuary II: Explore your Inner Self" at the Philam Life Insurance building on UN Ave., Ermita, Manila, July 23-Aug.6.
The art show will be staged by Genaro M. Mundia, poet, and his son, Nathaniel G. Mundia, artist.

Abaya at MOPC tonight
