Conflict: A Chronological Encyclopedia of Conflicts and Their Management 1945-1995, Bercovitch (international relations) and Fretter (political science, both U. of Canterbury-Christchurch, New Zealand) summarize and analyze international conflicts since World War II to provide readers with a deeper understanding of international conflict, what characterizes conflict in the major regions of the world, and how conflict is managed. After introductory chapters, the book is organized by six regions, each complete with maps, an essay on what characterizes conflict in that particular region, and specific conflicts in chronological order, providing context and insight on external and internal influences, related conflicts, and efforts to manage them.
