This reference will help human resource professionals

and workplace safety officers develop and implement workplace safety policies and ensure that their company's workplace is in compliance with the law. This 2006 edition includes new emphasis on the employer's responsibilities under the General Duty Clause of the federal Occupational Safety and Health Act and its state counterparts, as well as updates on workplace violence, indoor air quality, and changes to federal respiratory protection standards and federal safety regulations applicable to minors. Charts and checklists compare regulations of different states and provide citations for further information, and sample polices can be used to create workplace safety guidelines. Introductory text sections in each chapter provide context and detailed discussion of workplace safety issues. Buckley and Wilkerson are affiliated with the National Legal Research Group.
